Maybe its my sense of curiousity, maybe the fact that I can be anal, but I've started a list of '59 Trade Wind owners and their locations. So far I have 'markdoane,' 'cherring,' 'rschulz,' 'plowboy,' the infamous TT, a friend of mine here in town, a gentleman I met in Tucson and myself. Of these eight trailers, only two were made in Ohio. The lowest serial number is 114 and the highest number is 202 from CA. It would be interesting to know how many were made in that model year. I also know of one in Prescott with a mfgr. date of 8/59 and I believe this makes it a 1960 model so its not in the tally.
Any others out there? I'd love to add your info to my list.
I've slightly broadened my early Trade Wind registry to include '60 models. I now have 29 and still counting. I am very interested in adding any '59 and '60 Trade Winds to my count. If you are in possession of one of these beauties, please send me a PM. Thanks.

Hi Rob and/or Zoe -
Yeah, I've been in contact with the seller and have added it to the registry. I sent an email to the owner today to pass along my contact info to the new owner so we'll see what happens. Another pround new owner indeed!
Glad to see you're posting again. Yours has already been added to the registry from when yours arrived from Arkansas. What's the news on progress on your interior?
Still no really constructive changes to the interior. I have been doing a lot of reading here on the Forum and am encouraged. There are no known soft spots in the floor. I did quite a lot of probing and hammering but it all seems solid.
Before I do the inside I need to fix the sky lite. The PO did a real number on it. Must be a pound of screws holding a makeshift frame in place. Now after who knows how many years the plexi sheet is cracked. The original crank up hardware is long gone and I don't think the asking price for those replacement units would be worth it. Gonna need to give this my full attention for a spell.
The door is good to go though. I replaced the latch/dead bolt and did some bend to fit work on the door itself. Still fits great and so far - no leaks.
Sounds like you're progressing. If you recall, I made a skylight cover for mine out of two different sizes of aluminum angle and lexan. Here's a cross section. Works great and no leaks. I can send pictures if that will help. Have to take them this weekend, if need be. Let me know and I'll be happy to.
I did not realize you used two sheets of lexan - very nice......I still have the old frame you gave me - have not decided to go that route or to spring for 150 for a new one - have a while before I get to that point though
Yes, I am interested in more details of your sky light. I need to get roof area weather tight before I get too carried away with new floors and cabinets.
Here is what I have now.
Those cracks do leak too. Fortunately it does not rain much in Stephens County.
i will try and get the serial number for you at my lunchtime today.
all i know right now, from what i remember and have read on here.
its a 59 tradewind, it was originally a doubebed model with couch in front.
airstream added a bunk and a wraparound dinette.
i will try and get the actual number for you.
i do know it was either norwalk, or santa fe springs were it was built.
built month was 12/58
