Hey Paul, I have a 1960 that has tongue issues similar to this, did you tow it like that too? I just have ten miles to go to get her home. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for the update and the pics! Looks like this is coming together nicely. The floors look awesome btw. Was the choice to wrap the wheel wells in insulation for noise, temps or?

Man that is looking so nice Andy. A lot of work shown in those pictures. You're going to have the nicest Early TradeWind out there. If I remember correctly, Paul is the one working on your rig.

Thanks. They are 1/2" to save weight (most wood floors are 3/4"). I kind of splurged on these knowing they would be much heavier than the wood floor laminate stuff you see in the new Airstreams. They cost a small fortune so hopefully they will look nice and last a long time. The last time I bought wood flooring was in the middle of 2009 during the financial crisis, boy have prices gone up!

The idea was to insulate as much as possible and the wheel wells were just another place where the only thing separating the inside from the outside was a thin piece of aluminum. I doubt they will help that much since they will be under the beds but while we were at it, why not.

I doubt it will be the nicest but it will be very nice. Yes, Paul from A & P Vintage Trailer Works is doing the work. They are doing a great job, their attention to detail is very impressive.

Interior getting finished out.

The mahogany walls were too red so we stained them brown. I was please with the color, it looks really sharp in person.

Tell me something. When someone else is doing the, is it hard to keep the cost down? Or.does.he.give.you an.up.front bid?
Good luck.

It gets expensive but not as expensive as buying new. This unit will essentially be better than new when done and built to last another 100 years!

Solar/Lithium/Electrical installed.

We are doing a series of articles on RV Life on LiFePO4 battery technology (link) & new hi-tech solar electrical & solar equipment. Lots of fun gear to test out!

What a beautiful Airstream you are building. I love the cabinetry, and the "power plant" that provides lots of AC energy while boondocking.

It's a super new 59 Trade Wind.

I dreamed of an Airstream like this for 15 years. You remember, back in the day when I first opened the doors here on Airstream Forums.

The bunk bed will be perfect for the girls. I can't wait until our 1st summer road trip with the Tradewind in tow. Hopefully we'll pass through Denver so we can stop by and say hello. You can see the Airstream and meet my precious little girls too!

I'm so excited for our future camping trips, time to make memories!

Hey, Inside Out and I live in the same foothills west of Denver. I think there are a lot of Airstream enthusiasts here in Colorado. I just haven't connected with them yet. I need to find a rally or something.

Your Trade Wind will be very special indeed.
