Question A/C Cowls as Roadkill
I occasionally see the remains of air conditioner cowls/covers along the roadsides. Prob'ly have seen 5 or 6 over the years.

Why?

What fails on holding the things on?

I suspect replacements run around 150-200 bux????

They are not super thick, they take a lot of buffeting from the air, and only have 4 bolts straight down through the top to attach. Some of the older ones I have seen had fewer bolts than that, broken off in the weld nut, vibrated out, whatever reason. They spider web around the bolts and become road kill.
