66 Tradewind Bathroom Curtain

When we bought our 66 Tradewind the bathroom was mostly intact but the shower curtain and all hardware attachments were gone. I've decided to keep the bathtub/sink original.

Do any of you have pictures of how the curtain attaches and closes? Also what have you chosen for a bathroom door?

I have a 66 Tradewind and still have the original shower curtain. I made a new curtain using some plain white shower curtain material from Target. Cost was a little over $10. It works great. I reused the original fittings that slide in the track. It also snaps to the wall to stay closed. I will take some photos tomorrow and will post them.

It is good that you keeping your shower/sink original. It is a very functional design.

At first I thought about a redesign of the bathroom but I agree about the functionality of the shower and sink. I am removing everything to the right of the sink and using a marine macerating toilet instead of the original. I look forward to seeing your pictures so I can start putting it back the way it was.

You are right about the mid sixties bath design being very functional. I think people expected a bathtub back then. It was a big selling point. Putting the sink over the bathtub saved a lot of room and I believe allowed the medicine cabinet and wardrobe on the street side. Modern RVs usually don't have a bathtub.

That big bathtub makes a nice shower pan. Unfortunately mine had floor rot in the bathroom, especially under that heavy toilet. And my black tank was broken and the pan totally rusted away. It was a mess back there for sure.

I hope you still have the original shower curtain track. That son of a gun is a complex shape running out, down, and then back in along the end cap. I still have mine.

I don't have the hardware for the shower curtain track. Is yours for sale or are you still using it?

I have a 1965 Tradewind that has all snaps and no track. Should there be a track? I am also wanting to keep mine original but have no idea how the curtain was made and snapped on. As you may tell I am a newbie. Thanks for any input!

Yes, there was a track. It is nothing more than an aluminum extrusion similar to the curtain tracks in our trailers. But this guy is bent to fit the spherical contour of the rear fiberglass end cap.

You can see it in the upper left of the first photo. The second photo kinda shows the odd shape of this thing. And you can see the shape of the cross section of the extrusion in the third photo.
