'63 Tradewind restoration

Hello,

I recently purchased a 1963 Tradewind (24'). Some remedial work has already been done but we are having more work done including a complete restoration of the interior.

I am seeking advice re awnings. Do people tend to buy vintage or new awnings for vintage Airstreams? If new, do they tend to replicate the original design? Any advice on where to purchase would be greatly appreciated. I am based in the U.K.

We are planning on having bunk beds built at the rear of the trailer plus a sofa bed at the side, opposite a side w.c. and shower. Has anyone else got any experience of bolding bunk beds at the rear of a Tradewind? Again, I'd be grateful for any advice.

Marti’s Awnings seems to be the most popular “go to place” for purchasing new ones. Marti has a large selection of patterns with the vintage look. My wife opted to make both our awnings. Good luck.
