Those are tough to find I would search ebay often, but personally you could find some pretty cool knobs on ebay that would look alot better then that one thats what I did. That knob on mine broke when I tryed pulling it off of the door goodluck

I got a fridge and ac unit and should have all cabinets in by end of the month. Will not have doors by end of month tho I figure I'll buy doors on ebay they have alot of selections of maple doors on there for cheap. I would like to take it out on labor day weekend as long as all cabinets and appliances are in It wont bother me with no doors to camp. I would also like to get it on a scale to see what she weighs with all the new cabinets. I was told it would only increase the weight by a couple hundred pounds anyone have any ideas where I could get it weighed? Also this spring I would like to get the body repairs done professionally but the closest I found was in ohio, does anyone know of a body shop closer to minnesota? I'll try to post pics in the next couple weeks of new cabinets. I also sealed all windows up with new seals but when I got to last window I was trying to go too quik and window broke oh well cost was 15 bucks more of a pain then anything. I also just bought a new power jack from Airstream its got a 12v light on it for hooking trailer up at night. It sure will be nice when shes done, I definately bit off a little more then what I wanted to chew, but now seeing it all go back together its definately worth it.

Hey 63 ~

Sounds like you're really making progress and I (we) would love to see some photos. Your descriptions are so good that we want to see what you're explaining about your restoration. As for getting your trailer weighed, try a local truck stop that does repairs. Surely there is one in central MN.

Fellow 63 Airstream Tradewind

I too have an 63 TW. Was pretty hosed when I got it but bought it to COlin Hyde of GSM Vehicles about 2 years ago and it is now like new.

We love it and camp in it quite a lot. Good choice - I look forward to seeing more photos.

Here are a couple pictures of the interior. The wires hanging all around is the surround sound speaker wires I put in for our camping trip.

On the counter to the right that triangle piece of maple comes off for a laundry compartment. The shower faucet is actually a clawfoot bathtub faucet but thought it would look good. Water pressure worked great but think I need to lower the flow on the water pump. Front of trailer has not been completed yet but should be in the next month. Ill be putting a U couch in front and keeping the kitchen counter the same. I'll post more pics as she gets done. Oh and I had her weighed at a cat scale shes 3540. If I keep her right around 4000 I think axle will be fine any ideas if that would work with a 5200 lb axle?

Looks great! Hey, is that Dodge van your tv? I had to chuckle, as I thought I was the only one out there using one too... '94 Dodge B350 shorty.... brute of a van... terrible on the gas!

So, did you build up the frames of the cabinets with Maple 1x2's? They look very nice.

Like the shine of the exterior. I noticed you have overhead clearance lights... mine doesn't have any (just the four side markers). Did you add them yourself?

We used 1x6 maple and just ripped them in half for 1x3's. I have about 300 ft in there right now and figure when shes done it will be close to 400 ft, Lots more wood then expected. The overhead lights were on her when I picked it up, but the lights on the bumper are add ons. I figured I would put as much lights on the back as I could for safety without it looking like an eyesore. I also went with all exterior LED. Over heads have 6 diodes a piece the cupcakes have 56 diodes a piece and the bumper lights have 12 diodes a piece. It cost a little more but I figure they will pay for themselves in the long run. Happy trails
