1961 Tradewinds Before and (Finally) After

Almost done. A bit more polishing and a few things on the punch list, but we have already done our debut trip! Pulled it from a farm field in Iowa last summer where it had sat for 10 years. One winter, lots of blood, sweat, tears and cash and it is back to life. Kept everything I could, and only updated things like A/C, wireless network and a new toilet. I am in touch with the family of the original owners and trying to get some vintage pics. Great trailer and enjoy every minute of it. Getting ready to start the 73 Overlander shortly, which will be a shell off gut job.

All that woodwork brought back to life is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm pretty sure I'm green with envy right now.

Nice job beatrix! Thanks for the before and after photos. I have a real appreciation for all the hard work and problem solving you did to bring your 61 back to modern travel ready status. Congratulations.

Did you post a rebuild thread somewhere showing all the nasty steps of your rebuild? I particularly like photos of the rodent skeletons found in the belly area! Post a link if you did a rebuild thread. Thanks.

Old Trade Winds and Overlanders are a nice size vintage trailer for comfortable traveling in my view.

A work of art,, salvaged from death.. Thank you and your efforts..

Our 72 Overlander is in above normal condition,, and got it just in time to fix a few leaks that in another year would have spelled out real problems..

More or less have ours cleaned up,, new axles,, and everything is working just fine so more in use than rebuilding at this stage of its life.

Happy times ahead,, and you can be real proud of your work. Sodbust

Very pretty! It takes a lot of vision to see the 'before' and make the 'after' happen! Congrats!

Looks great. As another poster mentioned, the wood panels and walls look really great and what make it unique along with its vintage.
