Great progress! I really like the in floor storage. One suggestion on the plumbing if you haven’t thought of it already is a low point drain for the system. Being from Florida we usually don’t think about winterizing the water system but after we recently had a couple of Airstreamers courtesy park before heading back north and having to winterize on their way back home, this came to mind. The drains will also help clear the system of water if you need to make repairs in the future. We always look forward to your posts and watching your progress.

Safe Travels!!

There is someone here on this forum who has a nice rectangular wine storage bin under the floor.

Good point...and it is in the system.

If there is anything good about this lock down it means I get to work as much as I want on the AS. Also means other little house projects can get done since the time is all at the house.

Finished up the sub floor for the wet bath. Shower drains well and the tile looks good in the "dry" area. Now I have to give some serious thought on how to design the rest of the bathroom for max use of space.

wires

I finally took care of my messy wires...used the channel I had bent for holding the shell to the floor.

Wood-Finally

Now that I am basically done with most of the aluminum work it is nice to get back to wood. I did a little mock up in paper and wood to see if my ideas would work. 1st was to do the lower bunk and then to build 2 drawers under the bed. The grey box is the luggage compartment that is accessed from the outside. The drawer front will get a hard wood face. To be determined later. The next step is to build the left to right upper bunk. It’s fun to cut sand again.

Never too many!

On the build out where parts or wood are not cosmetic I have been trying to use up all my excess aluminum angles and left over wood. I have too much "scrap" that I have kept over the years.

When I needed a 28x28 support and I only had a 17x96 scrap I decided biscuit IT! On big pieces joined you really do need to Clamp the ever lovin' crap out of it to get it straight and flat.

Upper bunk and Cabinets

Last few days have been cutting drilling and sanding. Finally got the lower bunk and upper bunk roughed in. Also in the mix is the base for the upper bunk are 2 chests and a hanging locker...Hopefully I will get the drawers done in the next week. The other out of place picture is the outside/inside storage that is under the lower bunk.

Nice job on the bunks and getting storage in there too no reason you can't have your feet under the other guy so to speak.

Bunk Drawers Done

For me it always takes a little bit of time to remember how did I do that 10 years ago...Well making drawers is always a challenge. However once you get the measurements set then it is like a production job. Knocked out 4 drawers in the past few days. It also helps to have good tools. If you have not used a Kreg system...they are the ticket for people who do not want to spend time making the perfect joint or dove tail.
Waiting for the drawer slides to come in and then get this project done.

Not sure what part I will tackle next...leaning towards finishing up the bathroom area.

Decided to only put one drawer here...it will go up top and the back will be open to larger storage and covered by a door.

In the single drawer made a small sliding catch all for little things, such as glasses and nail clippers (wifes request)

Can not wait for this corona thing to be over, need to go shopping for some nice hard wood.
Everyone be safe out there.

Vanity top

Just roughed in the top for our vanity in the wet bath. The plan is to leave most of it open underneath...we will see how the over all look is when the walls are up.
The white stool is where the teak or what ever wood I can make a shower stool out of. The area not tiled is the shower pan, and the wheel well box will be tiled in the same waterproof stuff that I find to put on the walls.
The other picture is of a mock up of a drawer front. I have so much scrap aluminum that I think i will use it craftsman style front. Not sure so we have to look at it for awhile.

Great countertop design. It is fun watching one’s imagination take tangible form. Or, in my case, sometimes not. But, then again, the reimagined iteration is usually a definite improvement, yielding more satisfaction. Or something like that. So much for rainy day rambling.

More Cabinets

Just knocked out a few more carcasses...it is fun to look in and see the whole thing starting to take shape...on ward to the other side and work on the power center.

Terry, looks great. Things really start coming together when you get to the cabinetry. On these reno projects, when you get tired and bored with one phase another begins to keep the interest going. Take care.

Every once in a while I need to do a little fun project to keep motivated and not burn out. Today I knocked out my “shower stool” or my wife’s step stool. Had some left over teak from a boat project. Plained down to size and put it together. It turned out 👍

One more

One more box aka cabinet box. With flat sides this would be an easy thing to knockout, however we know the rounded shell presents the challenges to get the front square so the doors or drawers fit. Anyway one more thing roughed out.
