I am so sorry for what has happened to you. What a loss.. I think you will find it or it will be found. You can't just hide something like that and if they try to sell it they will be caught.
A friend of mine had his 56 Chev delivery stolen in Springfield, Missouri. He had completely went through it and it was awesome. Worth thousands. I mentioned this to a friend that lived in Florida. He remembered the truck from visits to Missouri. A couple of weeks later they went to the beach at Daytona and there it was! He found a cop told him the story, they checked it out, arrested to men and he had his 56' back in a week.

I hope your story ends up that way.
Good luck, I'll tell my hubby and we'll keep an eye out for ya.

quote=r&kweber;645599]Everyone,

Please keep your eyes peeled for our beautiful 1959 18 footer that was stolen off our property this morning. I've checked the local craigslist and on ebay with nothing so far. We did a total frame off restoration this year with a polish only a year old. It is gorgeous, serial number 18D0106, Wa license plate 9730SY.

If anyone sees this trailer, please pm us. Thank you!

Ryan,
You can search all of Craigslist using: crazedlist.org : search craigslist like a madman
Under select, pick All.
Good luck.

Does your trailer have a model name beside 18 footer?
There is no nameplated model name. It goes by either "18 footer" or "Traveler."

Wow! We both grew up in Seattle, my wife in Faultleroy; that is a bold move in that neck of the woods.

I would check with the port authorities. Harley's, classic cars are stolen all the time and shipped over seas. I have even read about nice bycyles being stolen and shipped over seas. I would look in that direction because that is to nice not be noticed. I don't think it would be stolen for aluminum. I would bet they were watching the whole restoration process. A friend told a friend told a friend and on and on. It got to the wrong ears and somebody waited for the correct moment. That is just an assumption. I am not in law enforcement because that kind of crime happens regulary in this country.

I would not trust anybody. Why because I have been ripped off by so called good friends before. Unfortunately that happens also

It could already be in container on a ship. Or waiting to be loaded.

You know folks. We post our airstream pictures on this site everyday. People could be documenting where these trailer are. Then going to the cities and looking for them.

I would definitely concentrate on the possibility that it has been prepared for shipment. The thieves could have had a custom wooden container already prepared for it. I believe that it's too large to fit in a standard shipping box - but, just maybe, with the wheels and air-conditioning removed it would fit? The amount of stolen goods that leave this country on a daily basis - from what I've read with reference to the port of Miami - is unbelievable! I wish you the best of luck getting it back and prosecuting the thieves.

I've sent this site to all the AS people I know. Will be on the look-out for it here in the midwest. That trailer should certainly stand out. I'm wishing you the best of luck in getting it back.

If it was, it was well set-up, and planned way in advance. I worked on those docks.

that kind of behavior just makes me mad

also makes me want to update my security systems.
don't you just want to take a wrecker bar to the people who stoop so low, but then call the sheriff in to do the right thing right before you cross the line.

it's the not knowing which is the worst

to search all of craigslist type yoursearchterm site:craigslist.org
for example 18 footer airstream site:craigslist.org

Ryan and Katie: Hope you get your very beautiful 18 footer back soon and undamaged! My wife is saving your original post with pictures on her laptop so we can help search for your trailer as we travel to Arizona later this winter. I would appreciate it if you would post the Brand Name and Model # of the Hitch lock and Pad lock you used to try to secure your trailer. That information might help others avoid a similar loss. Thank you.

That sucks.. our worst fear. Download Craigspal. Its a craigslist search engine that checks every craigslist in the country. They cant hide it forever and since she is such a beauty chances are that they will take care of it hopefully.. they know what they stole and have a plan.. just need to outsmart them..

We too will keep our eyes open down here in the bay area.

Everyone,

Thanks so much for the support! Can't remember right now about the hitch lock, but Ryan is confident that he can find it online... We'll post the info here when we do.

We filed with Seattle PD who are going to list it nationally. All state patrols, police departments and border patrols, etc, will be able to see it is stolen property.
