'59 Pacer-no progress

I just purchased a 59 pacer. Like most oldies it is in need of a full rehab...But, it wont be getting one at least not in the near future. No time no money so no progress! (plus my 68 tw keeps me busy enough!)

Hopefully someday I will get to retire and have some free time and get to fiddle with my new friend. I decided to get one now as these smaller airstreams seem to be heading overseas at an alarming rate.

I will post some pics as it is pretty original and it may help others in their restoration process and I thought this would be the best place to ask questions should I find a stray moment to work on it.

This photo is me getting ready to bring her home, not a bad trip about 170mi.

Kevin

I would guess it can sit indefinitely without getting worse as long as you do a quick check and make sure it is sealed up relatively water tight.
looks like a great project.

pretty original except for the dinette, but "well used" Here are a couple of pics, which may help some other crazy restorer.

Cool stuff man. Looks like you've got some linoleum to hide the Vinyl Asbestos Tiles, so that's an upgrade. Good idea to grab it now while you still can. On a recent road trip to go camping, we had ~15 people talk to us about it while en route. About 12 of those were Europeans on vacation road trips in the US, and all very interested in the trailer.

Get em while you can. Plus, its cool to have an Airstream "family"

That trailer is SWEET! You were smart to grab it while you could. Personally I'm glad to see one that won't end up overseas!

I am glad to see another Pacer saved and hopefully restored. We are about half done with the full Monty on ours and really like how it is turning out. Can't wait for our first trip out in it next spring. Hopefully..

Peter and Shelly, thank you both for helping convince me that I'm not crazy. Especially when you are both getting so much done on yours!

Peter I think the linoleum was thrown down to try and hide plywood issues, like a 50yr old trailer wouldn't have any. But at least where I could see the frame looks good.

Wow. That's vintage! So cool. You'll get to it someday and it will be worth it.
