What is this switch for?

Hi There, On my 62 overlander -What is this switch for? It is located behind the sink. It is wired but activates nothing?

Your coach is old enough that it may still be a air over water system. That swtich may be for the Grover air pump and if the pressure is up then they pump will not run till it's low. Do you have a pressure gage anywhere? Tank should be against front wall and the pump next to it. Our pressure gage was right next to the window. Picture in my gallery.

The pump switch makes sense, my airstream has been converted over to the demand type. The switch for it is now under the sink. Thanks.
P.S Does someone have a close up picture of the latch mechanism for the rear curbside side door? Mine is missing.

I have the same switch arrangement in my '64 Overlander. In the case of my '64 Overlander, it controlls the porch light (not the "scare-light"). A photo of the optional porch light is below:



According to what I have been able to learn, the porch light was an option seeing limited popularity that was available from sometime in the 1950s through the mid-1960s. I was actually able to locate a pair of NOS shades for the fixture at a WBCCI International Rally about four years ago. I have learned of at least one 1958 and two 1962 coaches that were equipped with this option.

The owners' manual for my coach doesn't mention this switch nor the option, but it was a factory installed option - - friends of my family special ordered the coach new during the '64 model year.

Jelous of that light! I have the same mount on the coach but I metered it and it's hot all the time. There are only two swtiches in my coach and one is a regular style light switch over the Goucho next to the front window and it appears to be wired for the Grover. The other swithc is for the porch light next to the door. Every other switch is on the fixture they control.

I've got the same outlet/switch combo, in the same locationon my '67 Globetrotter. It's currently wired to turn the 12 volt power on and off to a ShureFlow demand pump. The previous owner replaced the piston? type pump and left it in place, just connecting the new one with chunks of garden hose. I don't know for sure how much rewiring he did or if the old pump is 110 or 12 volts. I'll rut around in the basement tonight to find the old pump to find out it's voltage.

The proximity to the sink gives it away. If it's 12 v, you can bet it was the pump switch. My original switch location for the 12 v pump is on the side of cabinet next to the stove. I still use the original tank and pump system, althought the pump has been replaced. Found a pic of it, the switch is on the right side of cabinet in this pre restoration pic. Mike

I am satified it is for the pump. I will look for the wire under the bed and use it to now power the demand pump. This will eliminate the PO's toggle.

Does someone have a pick of the latch mechanism on the rear curbside side baggage door?
