Unused Battery compartment

Can someone suggest how best to seal it up from the inside and make it watertight and oh-so-subtle from the exterior?

I really would appreciate any help.

I removed the exterior cover, then the battery box. For the outside I used a 3/16" thick aluminum plate with compliant sticky gasket material (butylene sealant). Coated it with clear coat.


For the inside I replaced the skin in a way that made the wall seem original. My trailer had a couch in front so the skin was not very good. The new skin looks a lot better.
