Nicki what was it. Do the new ones not do anything for you or was it the prices?
I look at the new ones and they look too much like the SOB's out there, also i figure for that price I can reno a vintage unit and build it much better.

They had a 31ft Classic, an Eddie Bauer, and 3 flying clouds of various lengths. Mostly it is layout, with two kids and two dogs the layout has to be perfect. We have to have enough floor space the big dog to laydown. The dinette can't be attached to the sofa to create separate beds for the kids, which rules out anything under 28ft. Then there is cost and depreciation. Knowing ours is paid for is a nice bonus. We have copious amounts of storage which the new ones don't.

There is really only two reasons I look:
grey tank envy (I am working on getting over it)
curiosity (which will likely bite me in the %#$)

Shawn thinks that the classics look like SOBs on the inside.

Not to mention that no matter how many people hate the 1970's decor, it sure is light as a feather..you know what I mean.

Now IF I were to win the lottery:
solar panels
custom interior
custom floor plan
I'd make sure they didn't put a cabinet over the sink (to save shawn's from hitting it).
Grey Tank

Chris, have you seen the one at the corner of CTY Rd 6 and Hwy 89, just west of Mount Forest looks abandoned.
How many you got now Jim, I'm up to 5.
Hey Doug I was down in Mt. Forest today and had a look at that one. It's a 1974 Sovereign, twin beds, rear bath. It's missing the stove, the door lock, has a newer A/C, and some skin damage to the lower segment of the curbside rear end cap and has one broken window. All in all very typical of an abondened unit and not what I would be interested in.
If anyone else is I can try and track down the owner for them.

Congrats WC on your latest acquisition. It will be beautiful once it is redone. Nice find and you might be right....someone will have to stop you from collecting all the Airstreams out there Not sure who can stop you by the way. I could try but I'm too far away and you'd likely not listen to me anyway . I'll be watching to see the latest development on your collection.

Gary Thanks.

Sandy Thank you also. I'm sure you can't help me either as you have the same affliction although you've been able to keep it in check. You're looking for more but haven't bought any more yet.

Greg 30 acres actually but I'll have to stop at 30 trailers as I won't have any sites left to park them on. LOL. Once I get them all done I may rent them out on site for weekend camping. You could have your choice of decade, 50's,60's or 70's. Of course you would have to come in period appropriate dress for the decade of trailer you chose.

Thanks Lance I grabbed with a last minute bid with only 45 seconds for the other bidders to respond. They tried but my high bid won out.
Turns out the seller is a forum member who has at least 10 others in his harem. He bought this one to save it from the scrap yard and is glad it is going to come back to life.
It may be a while though. I need to finish the 73 and then Frank needs to do the 61 before we start this one.
Now all I need to do is start looking for a 55 Nomad as a TV. That would be way cool to see.
