Congratulations Marcus! I think it's great that you found one that you already know a lot of it's history. Plus, you're the most well informed "newbe" here--ha--new term--"rivet master newbe"!!

I was ssooooo close to seeing your Overlander! Gulfport is only about 70 miles from Mobile, and my business is only 1 mile from I-10 & my home only about 4 miles from I-10. Hope to see you at a Vintage Rally one day.

Rick-- Yeah, we drove right past the Gulfport exit on I10. Would have been there about 10:45 AM on Saturday morning. Mentally, I'm going back and waving at you!

(By the way, I10 in Alabama and Mississippi is a fantasrtic road. In Louisiana and East Texas, not so much... ).

Sharon and Todd-- Enjoyed the boating exchange. I, too, am a boater-- I have an 18' runabout that lives in my garage, along with all of my shop tools of course. Frank tells me the boat will need a new place to stay so my workshop can grow and expand to accomodate all of the Airstream-related items!

I think my wife would like the opportunity to name the new family member, and it's the least I could offer her since this was all my idea in the first place, but at the same time I certainly wouldn't want to offend Terry or Cat.

Marcus, if you rename Goliath, make sure you don't do it right after performing some work on it. If you do, it may wind up being named "Rotten Moldy Old Nasty Mean-Spirited Recycled-Beer-Can Barge". Or something like that. Not that I've ever called Goliath that after smashing a thumb...

Good point Terry, definitely should be nice and relaxed before making any major decisions like that. Several margaritas should do the trick!
