Fourth Generation Traveling in '60 Overlander

Many Forum members who are also involved in the Vintage Airstream Club are probably aware of the history of Scott and Lise Scheuermann's 1960 Overlander. Their children make the fourth generation of the Scheuermann family to camp in the 1960 Overlander originally purchased new by Scotts grandparents. A slide-show history of this coach can now be found on the Airstream.com site at the following:

Airstream, Inc :: The Scheuermann Story

The vintage photos are really something to see particularly if you have seen the coach in-person. It does take the slideshow some time to load on a dial-up connection, but the show is definitely worth the wait.

Great slide show!

Thanks for sharing the link.

It makes me really appreciate the history some of the members carry with them. I always enjoy talking to older members to hear their history or to younger members who are second and third generation Airstreamers.

Kevin, Thanks for the great link to the Scheurmann history. Its great to see families enjoy and use an Airstream throughout many years.

We're second generationers also. My wife went on the maiden voyage of her aunt and uncle's '59 Tradewind. It will be back on the road this spring after a four year frame-up restoration.

I'm zero generation so far, but I promise I'll pass along the aluminitis to my newborn daughter if I'm ever lucky enough to find an Airstream of my own...

Love the story in the OP, and love hearing from all of you AS veterans on your travels.

I am a 3rd generation and hopefully my kids will be the 4th. My grandparents original WBCCI number keeps getting handed down to the next generation. It has woven itself into the fabric of our family's lives. What a joy!
