As they broke they were improved as they were repaired, they evolved to a perfect caravanning unit. Fully self contained for comfort. Everyone has their era that they prefer... to each his own.
Now as for your search... you must not be looking too hard. I come to south Texas every year. My Father- in- law, Brother- in- law, and I come down to dove hunt in Lasalle county. We drive down from Austin or San Antonio and I see them all over the place. You need to go looking... I know in Cotulla, where we stay there are a few Airstream parked at some of the ranches we pass. Looked at a cool Avion, but it is too far to go retrieve it and I have enough on my plate right now. Go drivin' some farm roads....
Heh, I've actually been driving every farm road that I have a chance lately. Recent trips to Dallas, Houston, and East Texas have been done almost entirely off the Interstates for the sole reason of Airstream hunting (my wife thinks I'm ceritifiably nuts at this point ). But nary a single sighting to show for it all.

Well, that's not entirely true-- I did see one Smushstream at an auto salvage yard. It looked like it might have once been a 60s Safari, but I don't think there was even enough left of it to even part out.

But rest assured, I am taking your advice and searching the backroads. Just haven't found one yet.

Rick, Thank you for showing Mary and Rick a good time. They both need to relax and hopefully the Big Easy is the place. I like that cabinet. Did you use the aluminum from formica of is that from a supplier such as my favorite folks at AirParts inc.? I hold no claim for originality there... Others have done the same as me, just not to the entire bathroom. The old Spartans had a similar bathroom treatment, only without the segmented walls. I have been following your progress, though I have not participated in your thread. Keep going, looking great. Please make sure Mary and Rick have too much spirits and get them to unwind. I have great faith in them and hope to see mre of them now that Toaster is able to roll again.

Marcus, keep the faith, she is looking for you too. Good to know I am not the only one who's wife thinks he is crazy. I have contacted a friend in Fort Worth and one in Macoy and asked them to keep their eyes open. We are looking for you too.

Many thanks for your gracious help. The people here on the Forums are, by far, the most friendly and helpful I've ever encountered on any computer message boards (and computer message board/chat forums were my business at one time many moons ago).

I also listened to the VAP# 68 last night, it was a lot of fun. Very interesting to put a face and a voice to the screen name. If I'm not mistaken, it sounds like you might have volunteered for a "Front Half Throwdown" for next year's Rally. At least this time your schedule won't be quite so hectic-- maybe you'll even manage to save a finger or two, and still have one working eye by that point.

Looking forward to following your continued renovation, and thanks again for the help and encouragement!

-Marcus
