I covered each one in Citrastrip, enclosed it in a freezer bag, left it for a couple a of days ( not by design but I just didn't get back to it!) And then used a toothbrush and 3m grey pads to take the paint off. Seriously my best ( ie most used ) purchases so far have been my scaffolding and a carton of 3m grey scotch brite pads. Product Catalog Scotch-Briteâ„¢ Ultra Fine Hand Pad 7448, 6 in x 9 in, 20 pads per box 3 boxes per caseÂ*: Electrical Commercial and Industrial: 3M US
Oh, and plastic razor blades, love them!
PS, after they were stripped I used a degreaser to get the original grease on the crank out, spray painted, then sprayed a silicone lubricant on the gear. Do NOT use the silicone before the spray paint ( ask me how I know! ).

By the way I just realized the picture of the scare light was version 101. Originally, I tried using cork as a gasket. Major fail, I ordered the butyl tape from VTS and redid. One of the many items I've done more than once.... Learn from my mistakes grasshopper..

You said Marinco inlet, but it is a Furrion in the photo. There is about a $75 difference there. I use the Furrion inlets myself.

You can get a blue lens and LED bulb from VTS for your scare light. We saw one at the MN Airstream Park and bought one. Looks KOOL! All your wonderful exacting work puts us to shame, esp in the polishing department. We've done hardly anything there, and still aren't sure how much we want to polish....

Looking GREAT, Shelly! I love those vents. I actually was washing out my black tank with my Flush King for about the third time and wasn't paying attention & and a shower come out of my bell-type vent like yours! Never fear, I have a no-poop-policy! lol!!! It was nicely sprayed over the whole rear of the trailer....

I added the Marinco outlet. By the way, I used a rubber gasket that I cut last year turned out it was already cracking so I found this at the local Orange Box store, closed foam seal, fit perfectly, even the screw hole punched in the foam lined up! They also fit perfectly under the wedding cake tail lights. I'll re-purpose the metal plate that came with them.
Great thinking on the gasket did you replace those wedding cake lights? my bases are rusted out but lenses are ok. Just wondering what streamers are doing for replacements

I not only replaced the wedding cake lights with ones from VTS (mine came with truck stop models) but took them LED, like reggiemon did in this thread
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f447...emy-52497.html
It's NOT for the faint at heart, you have to drill into the stainless backplate with a hole saw, and put a larger hole in the trailer skin. Plus the LED needs to be enlarged/ filed at the screw holes to get it to all fit..... The upside is it's a completely sealed unit, no corrosion and LED are vastly superior to the standard OEM bulbs.
Ask my how I like it when I actually light it up for the first time

I found something really exciting when I was cleaning up the interior wheel wells. Someone had written something on the fiberglass! I've seen other peoples posts about uncovering cool notes and signatures inside the walls of their Airstreams. At one point, I considered taking apart my door because it is often signed by one of the workers....then I came to my senses!
Anyway, I thought how cool! I finally have something! The trouble was I couldn't read it as they signed the backside of the wheel well and plated over it with a piece of aluminum ,so it was a very faded mirror image I was seeing from underneath . Nothing would do except taking it all apart!!!! So I did! Once I wiped all the grime off I could finally see what it said....wait for it...
Can you see it? Come a little closer....
Now?
It says "REJECT" Well, that sucks ....just saying....
The search for evidence of her builders continues. I need to think about how to leave my mark for future owners ....

Hope you don't get a complex or anything...... I wrote a note on the interior of the exterior skin of when I remodeled it. In another 50 years maybe someone will find it...!

I already have a complex! Like my trailer can only be viewed between 5 and 7 pm...... Morning sun sucks and has no bearing on my polishing skills. Seriously
