62 O'lander Bathroom Light

Hi There, I am missing the curved lens for my bathroom light in my 62 overlander. What is it supposed to look like? Can somebody post a picture so I can find/fabricate one? Thanks

I believe I have the same light fixture but mine is missing the lens and the left end panel. Can you post a picture of yours? If I had the end panel, I was thinking of using a cut down piece of those 2' x 4' recessed flourescent light fixture covers. They are readily available in home centers and should be flexible enough to curve to the needed shape. A little applied heat could convince them if needed.

Here is a pic of mine. The lens idea is a good one, I am currently working on the Airstream so I may give it a try in a day or so. I will let you know the results.

I have a few of these fixures (bathroom, bed, iirc) in my '61. The covering is very much like the white flourescent light covers--and I understand it's a satisfactory substitute. For the accuracy obsessed, the original light cover is made of translucent white plastic (I think the surface is formed in thin parallel ridges). You may have to search far to get an exact match, but I think the regular replacement flour. light covers you can get at Home Depot will do fine, even if the pattern is slightly different. I don't know how you could cut it, though--you may need to use a saw, since it's a little too brittle for snips and too thick and hard for a razor.

Here's a picture of my original light fixtures, the twin bed lights are exactly like the bathroom fixture. They are as described, white translucent plastic with thin ridges. Mine are going to be replaced, and so far I've been unable to find them. I was checking old electical fixtures in small town hardware stores whenever I travel, I remember seeing those fixtures being common. Until then you can make do with the flexible acrylic sheets, they bend enough to work, you can use a dremel to cut em, and a hair dryer to assist in the bending. My ratio is 3 broken attempts for every successful one, so go ahead and buy the large sheet of plastic. It's only 4 bucks or so. Mike

I've tried to use those flourescent panels - they are very brittle and do not bend well, so I gave up on them.
