1959 Bath Layout

I need pictures and measurements of the toilet area in a 1959 with the tub on the curb side. The closet rail is still on the wall on the toilet side. The toilet is a house toilet on the floor. Also need pictures and placement of the bathroom sink. I'm not likly to make it original but it's real hard to come up with a layout that works better than the original in these. I would like to use some of the space for a closet but it looks real tight.

Thanks

Hey Paul,
I may be able to help but my bathroom cabinet was completely shot when I got it so I haven't replaced it yet. I want to make something smaller as I'm 6'4" and the bathroom cabinet took up too much space anyhow. Take a look at the pictures in the VAC Archives section under '59 TradeWind for starters. I can take and send/post more if you like. What do you mean about the closet rail is still on the wall?

59 Bath

Paul,
I can help with some dimensions and pictures of the cabinet. My unit had a 'wet shower' on the curb side, toilet mounted on the above floor septic tank, and closet on the street side.

Here's the best picture I have

Closet rail. The aluminum track the piece of pane fits into to make a wall.

Paul,
Oh wasn't sure if that's what you meant, got it. I can take pic's and send measurements just let me know what you need. I can still send the measurements from the missing bath cabinet because the holes are still in the walls and it fit just under the window.

How wide is the vanity. That would set the size of the toilet shelf. Looks tight.

I put a few first photos in the gallery. This should keep me busy for a few months.

Paul,
You have a task or two ahead of you. Looks to me like the tub on yours is on the streetside and not the curbside. Are you planning on moving it to the other side?

Paul,
Let me know what you're going to do. I would be willing to trade a closet for a bathtub.

Will leave tub curb side if I use it. It appears on casual inspection to be in good condition. I'll know better when I pull it to deal with the floor inspection and rear interior shell recoating. I looks/ feels like the walls in the back are fiberboard. Could this be the case? That won't do for another 50 years.
No progress this weekend as the honey list has been found. I though I hid it better.
Is the tub plastic or fiberglass?

Paul,

The shower pan on mine is fiberglas. Would you consider trading your tub for my closet if I included the shower pan?
