I found this on Craigs list and it turns out to be ~ 20 miles from my house.
The owner said someone has enquired and is going to look at it tomorrow.
According to current owner the axle, frame and skin are good to excellent, floor has soft spots - sounds reminiscient to my Caravel when I bought it...ended up replacing 1/2 the frame and floor.
At anyrate, I hope the owner sells it tomorrow so that I am no longer tempted to purchase - as I am currently restoring an old sailboat too.
But I'd LOVE to own this thing (if only I could place it in storage for a year or two).
Why aren't any of the good ones in the south east???

JP-- You're losing focus-- think "Silver Pickle."
Julison-- I hope that another buyer does NOT purchase it, so that you end up buying it. And then of course you'll have to post your restoration progress here, with a lot of pictures. I'm selfish like that!
I'll have to wait and see what happens Wednesday.
If the buyer doesn't take it (which is unlikely as he / she is travelling 500km) then I'll have to work on convincing my wife. She has said - one trailer only - so either I sell the Caravel or ....
If the buyer doesn't take it I'll still visit and take a slew of more pictures at the least - perhaps I can get one of you interested enough to take a road trip - Ontario/Quebec are very beautiful.
If it were 20 miles from me, I'd be there with my yellow caution tape, lawn chair and a portable cooler waiting for the owner to show up, especially at that price and even if I already had one. Do what you can to get this beauty. We're all rooting for you.

Julison - I'd sure give it a good look-see, if only it was in my part of the continent!! Why not take a leaf out of GT1963's loving generousity - buy the trailer, make sure it's road worthy (axel, brakes, running power & lights), register it in your wife's name and then present it to her as HER very own Airstream. That price, no matter what the conditon might be, is a steal - way too good to pass up.
