Anybody replaced the bead between the frame in the trailer and the window sash, shaped like a tube with a kind of molded in place flange, that theoretically slips into a slot in the window frame in the trailer? Seems simple, but would love to hear anyone else's experiences or comments.

thanks

I have a 1981 27' International that has water inside the double pane glass window on the front curbside window. It seems that the previous owner repaired the leak but the water doesn't seem to be exiting the window. The level of the water seems to be constant, neither rising or falling.

So two questions:

1. How do you propose I get the water out?

2. How should I seal or check to make sure the window isn't taking on more water and won't take anymore on in the future?

I have a recently purchased 1993 Excella. I just washed it went in the AS and found water was inside the front. It appears that the water came in from the top of the window. It is aonly on one side of the panoramic windows. I inspect the window and discover that the PO silicon the inside of it. The AS has rock guard panels and a 3 piece panornamic rock guard for the window. The leakis coming from the top closest to the center panel. Can it be the hinges of the center rock guard or do I have to replace the windows. The way the windows are installed makes me think the source of the leak is not at the window but could be above or where the hinges for the rockguard are attached. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I went hunting yesterday on my property where I use my 78-31' Airstream as a "cabin" during hunting season and found that someone had taken a shovel and pried open the window from the outside on the drivers side adjacent to the fridge and in doing so had broken the interior pane of glass on the window. Not certain why it ended up that way but it did. The exterior pane remains intact but a mess. They also managed to pull down the retractable shade, tear the bug screen, and leave muddy footprints on my couch. Nothing taken because there is nothing of value in the trailer. Went back out the window because there is a keyed deadbolt on the front door.

My question is this - will I need to replace the entire window or can I just get a pane of glass to replace the broken one? The window frame appears to be in OK shape although the torqued the heck out of the windows latches at the bottom of the window which will also likely need to be replaced. Thanks, Andy
