Look what this set of tail lights went for on Ebay. You can buy these new for $280.00. I'd have to price it out again but you could probably part them together for even less. The last time I ran up to the factory store they had the frames - the rest of the parts are readily available.

First of all, this forum is great! I've learned more here than anywhere about Airstreams and Airstream repair. Thanks to all of you.
Here is my question>
Does any body know the diameter and length of the rivets used to attach the running lights to the body of the trailer. They are original to the AS and are oval shaped.
Also any tips on gaskets for the running lights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
I cant find them in any photos ---

Hi, all
While converting to LED running lights on our new-to-us 2004 Safari 28, I found that the backup light black wire is "missing", and the backup light is wired into the stop lights. The PO did disclose that he had bought the trailer wrecked - rear ended w. damage to storage box and lower rear quarter panels only. He had this repaired by a dealer to the tune of 6K+ and is cosmetically excellent, but it appears the wiring was screwed up. My question is: Where are the wiring harness connections for the rear indicator lights, above the storage box under the bed, below it in the belly pan, or in the wall? Not having a backup light is not a critical safety issue, but I want to make it right eventually, and at some point may become obligated to get a state inspection. Thanks,
Bruce

:huh:Hi. The reading lights in my '79 Sovereign are continually blowing their fuse. I replace it and two or three days later for some unknown reason, POP, there goes the fuse again. My Airstream fixit guy says she needs a new fuse box, but I don't currently have the money to haul the rig to him and have it replaced. Is there an easy fix? At one time I thought it might be linked to the overhead lights, but I see no sign that the wiring for the reading lights is routed through the three overheads. I wonder if there is a short somewhere along the line that is rubbing against the metal frame now and then and shorts them out and have considered running a new wire from the back of the trailer to the front, the box is in the front and the bedroom is in the back, and then reconnecting at the two ends. ANY IDEAS. JLD:(
