On the pre 70's Airtreams without a gray tank where do the drains for the sinks go? I realize people use totes but how does it exit the drain pipes.
Is it connected to the black tank pipe bypassing the tank? Fittings?

I thought I'd bring this to the attention of the people who are just buying their first Airstream trailers. Not all of the trailers will have the universal size outlets for the sewer drain line connection. If the dump hoses you're buying at the store [camper dealers or where ever] don't fit, don't be alarmed. In fact, you should check the outlet cap [the name will be formed in to the cap] before you go to get your new hose. If you have a Thetford system - as I do - you will need to get an adapter. Don't get discouraged, it's an easy, and cheap [$10 or less] fitting to get. Go to a camper dealer and tell them you need the adapter for a Thetford sewer system. It's best if you take your cap to match up to the adapter [to the inside dimension]. After numerous trips, and a bunch of dumb looks from the younger counter help, and older man at Chesaco RV realized that what I had, and sold me the adapter I needed [$6.99].

77 Overlander.
Tried to pull black water outlet off the pipe last weekend per the service manual which indicates that SOME valve to pipe connections that year may be glued. Would appear that mine is one of those.

I have a spare valve which was left in trailer by PO. Appears to right valve but also appears to missing O rings. W/O O rings outlet side of valve does not fit well in to a new 3" long sweep T-Y so am wondering how they glued valve to pipe? Would rather not glue up replacement so w/ O ring do pipe and valve seal correctly?

Also anyone know where to get O rings or best to just buy a whole new valve from Inland RV or anyone else?

TIA,

Help with holding tank leaks.

I have a 28 ft 1981 Excella motor home with a rear bath. Both my holding tanks have developed leaks in the bottom of the tanks.
Does anyone know where I might get replacement tanks?
What alternative way are there to fix the problem?

Thanks,
