Someone told me the pre 70's trailers polish up to a higher shine than the 70's and newe because of the makeup of the aluminum.
.Does this mean on a 74 you wouldn't get that dramatic look.
Is it possible but harder to do? Anyone polished both?

I'm new to the forum, and Airstream ownership. Has anyone used Truck Box Polish on their Airstream trailer as a polishing compound?
Are there reasons why one should not use it??

Oh...by the way, everyone here has been really helpful so far....Thanks!

new to this site...I recently bought a 1976 24 Argosy that the previous owner primed gray 3 years ago. I know the end caps are steel, but has anyone got an opinion on if the aluminum may be stripped and polished, and simply paint the steel end caps silver to closely match?

Good morning I am looking seriously at buying a 1995 26' Excella 1000 Airstream. The exterior glaze is peeling off and it looks like it will come off fairly easy and a lot of is all ready off. My question is can this model be polished, a gentleman in another forum suggested I go to this room to see what the experts say. He's thinking it's an alloyed type that won't polish, if so what's my alternative. And I am in Albuquerque New Mexico, there's an Airstream Dealership here in town but they aren't exactly the friendliest people to talk with so I'd rather take my chances in this forum. Thanks in advance.....Wally
