Word has it that Airstream will be changing the electric brakes in production, to self adjusting brakes.

Horray for a big improvement, assuming it becomes a reality.
while doing some searching on the topic i came across a 1969 article in popular science with an Airstream in it!

does anyone have any experience with this?

We recently purchased a 2003 Ford F250 XLT 2WD to tow our newly acquired horse trailer, which it does beautifully. The Ford will be the Airstream TV as well. The F250 came with a Tekonsha Envoy brake controller.

I also have a 2006 Tacoma V6, which I used as the Sovereign's tow vehicle. The Tacoma is OK for the Airstream, but I'm sure we'll be very happy with the F250.

I researched the forum when I was adding the brake controller for the Tacoma, installed Prodigy, and like it a lot. With the F250, however, there was no user's manual for the Envoy. I visited the Tekonsha website, and read through the "set up" for the Envoy. Holy cow. I didn't do any of that sort of thing with the Prodigy. Just installed it, and we seem to be good.

Should I move the Prodigy over to the F250 (and put Envoy in the Tacoma)? I doubt the Tacoma will be used for much towing now that we have the Ford. If we switch controllers, is there anything special I have to do wiring/install/etc?

I appreciate any insight from the forum. Thanks.

I tow a 34' Excella (3-axel electric brakes) with a 2005 Silverado 2500 Duramax Short Bed. I intend to buy a ProPride as it seems that Jim Hensley has made several improvements over the original Hensley Arrow. I also want the best brake controller available for this rig and trailer.

I have read a lot of threads on these brake controllers, but none seem to address the key claims by Hensley that the TruControl handles declines and inclines and is current compensated and compensates for electric brake fade. Some posts state that the TruControl is the same as the Prodogy P3 but as I understand it, the Prodogy does not have any of these capabilities.

Could anyone please clarify these points without "slamming" anyone's products? I just want facts, not vitriol and inuendo.

Be kind to everyone,
