Our friend's have offered to swap 'streams with us as we have been on the lookout for a smaller Airstream (for looks, towing ease and flexibility) and they need more room. We're really having a hard time making a decision though and are hoping ya'll with your expertise and experience can help!

Ours is a all original '72 Overlander, EVERYTHING works perfect. Some of the tambours are broken though. Original Thermador (I bake in it often), double bed in the back, new blue stripe awning, it's a jump in and go trailer.

Our friend's is a '67 17' Caravel. Wraparound dinette w/ newish sleeper. Needs new electrical, new kitchen cabinets, the bathroom has to be pulled out and refinished & the bathroom floor is rotten and has to be replaced. 2 windows are plexiglass and the front and back windows do not open and are wrapped in wood. There is no awning, which is important to us. The skin is in decent shape and it's cute.

We love our Overlander but feel the Caravel is a rarer find (Overlander's seem to be a dime a dozen) and it seems that fixed up the Caravel will have more value.

What do you think? Is this a good swap or are we crazy for considering it and all of the work????

PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU THINK! Thanks in advance!

I have this lovely?? airstream and its been parked for at least 30 years. I need to know if it would be able to be restored --just at a glance.

We are considering selling our 1965 Safari 22ft. Several people are intrested, but the prices I have researched are all over the place. Any guidence on what to ask would be appreciated. We are downsizing to 17 footer. The Safari has been restored with an emphasis to keep orignal apperance as much as possible. All new fresh water system, pex plumbing, water heater, water pump, fixtures (oem hand held shower retainer). Rear floor replaced. New Amtico bamboo floor through out. New galvanized support tray for the black water tank. New suburban furnace with OEM exterior vent cover. Dometic fridge removed and rebuilt with new 110 element. Works great on Lp or shore power. Axel brakes rebuilt & new rims and tires installed. All the workwork (mahagony veneer) was removed and refinished with Watco. Exterior has not been polished and suffers from clear coat failure in spots. No major dents. It is a twin model so front dinette and side gaucho.

I have what I understand is one of only five Argosy with a left hand slide out. It is in amazing condition. We are the third owners. I have the original sales slip, brochures, manuals, blueprints, receipts and manuals for any repairs over the years, trip records, etc. Even correspondence from the retired original Airstream engineer to the first owner with the engineers home phone number! How does the rarity effect value? We are thinking of selling.

Thanks for your guidance.
