do i have to? do i owe this money? should the dealer eat the cost of their mistake? if i really have to pay they should send me a updated sales contract ?

i signed a sales contract outlining everything, they can't just change their mind 3 or 4 months later???

thanks for your input!

Are the California trailers worth more than the Ohio models? Example: Would a 1968 Overlander International made in California be worth more or as much as one made in Ohio in the same condition?

This is a tough post.

The family and I are moving to West Africa where I will serve as a Peace Corps Medical Officer. This is a great opportunity that we couldn't pass up.
I would love to do an Airstream Caravan there, but they won't ship vehicles or trailers.

So, I am selling my 1962 Tradewind. I am only 1/2 way finished with the shell-off project, but my loss could be your gain.

I wanted to post it here before alerting the general public. There's nothing hidden and no surprises since everything I have done it posted here....

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f116...pic-26575.html

Basically, it is a frame off renovation.

Frame repaired and 2 coats of POR-15

New Duraflex axle and electronic brakes.

New insulation under floor.

New plywood floor, sealed.

New wheel wells and C-channel (straight sections).

Insulated door, new door seal, and re-riveted hinges.

Shell back on and re-riveted in place.

New rear lights and running lights.

2 new Maxxfans installed.

The trailer is gutted with interior walls off right now.

I have a roll of 700 sq.ft. of Prodex.

I have the original stove and kitchen cabinetry.

The rest of the interior was not salvageable.

The trailer needs electrical done, insulation, interior walls, and then whatever interior design you'd like. Then you go camping.

So take a look at the thread and PM me if interested. I haven't set a price but will probably go with cost of the trailer and then all the new materials. Of course, I will leave labor out, because that was the fun part!!!

This is a sad day for me.

I'm hoping for some help from members to spread the word to anyone who may be interested in owning a great vintage Airstream!
We purchased a beautiful 1960 Tradewind International this year and we love it... Even though we didn't get to go camping in it this summer due to the fact that we were too busy fixing her up!
Now we're considering selling it because we had to invest more money into it than we originally thought we would. She's worth it though!
I posted an ad here on the classifieds and have yet to post pics although I have some from before the purchase, because I wanted to take some after we finished all of the work on it.
It's in really nice original condition and it has had many of the important things replaced and done to it by the only reputable dealer in the area. The exterior is in amazing shape and only needs to be polished! The woodwork is also beautiful!
It's 24' ft long and has a full bath. A dinette/bed, a double bed and a single bunk.
Please look in the classifieds under 1960 Tradewind and if you or anyone you know has any interest let me know. I will gladly send pictures and list the few things it still needs done. Thank you!

Bullet4sale is a gentleman in Colorado that has had several airstreams posted in the classifieds. Does anyone have any feedback on dealing with him. I am considering one of his trailers but live a 1000 miles away. Would also be interested in finding an inspector in his area of Colorado Springs....
