I am looking to buy an Argosy. I have been looking for about a year and started with the AS. But the Argosy seems lighter and I like the front wrap-around windows. My wife and I want to make the front a permanent bed and use the side couch as the dinning area.... I have seen 22 footer with a table that extends in front of the side couch. It seems the floor plan also allows more room up front to make the permanent bed.
I have a 1978 22 foot unit spotted. It has a dinette up front, but I do not see the side table by the couch. Is the side table only available in the units with a front sofa?
Also, I have been unable to find any info on the 1978 Argosy..... floorplans, specs etc. The owner of this unit does not seem very knowledgeable. It has the aluminum floor. I thought this feature was only in the Minuet. I have not see this unit in person, (it is 5hrs away), but I have not seen the Minuet logo on the side.
Did they make a regular 22' Argosy and a 22' Minuet in 1978?
Is the Minuet 7' wide and the regular Argosy 7'8"? And is that the main difference?
I would love to be able to jump in the car and drive 5 hours to look at this unit, but cannot without a good chance it is what I want.

How hard is it to deal with damaged Argosy end caps. Because they are steel, will they be harder to work with. Looking at an Argosy with basketball size dent in front end cap. Will taking off inner skin and going after it be the way to go? Thanks for the advice in advance.

My son wants us to remove one of the built-in couch beds in our trailer so he can put in a desk. Any thoughts on how removing this bed would affect the structural integrity?

Found this old girl lost in the woods. One would need a chainsaw to get her out. She is suffering from neglect. Notice tree branch sticking through the skin. What a shame! Will try to save her. Any idea what it is worth? Thanks!

My Argosy's brakes are not working.
The brake controller in the Wagon is working (its working my other trailers brakes) and is not showing a defect (the red light is not coming on or shooting any fuses).

The main blue wire seems to be intact all the way to the rear brakes from the front to the rear in the wiring harness. I installed a new wiring harness on the front of the trailer (no help).

Does the blue wire have to be connected to my new inverter to work the brakes during normal towing or just for the brake away switch?

It was connected to the previous Univolt, but I did not re-connect it to the new converter..because I thought it only needed to be hooked up to the conveter to work the brake away switch. I installed a new brake away switch, which didn't help.

I have not pulled the hubs yet, I relied on the tire shop to check them out when I had my new tires installed. I assume I'll be pulling the hubs?

I can easily stop the trailer with my tow vehicles brakes....but I want to be safe and have my brakes working on the Argosy.
