The GA-TAC gathering will be from September 2-5, 2011 at Cloudland Canyon State Park. This will be close to the Atlanta Metro Area and also to Chattanooga, TN so TN-TAC members may be interested in attending. There are numerous online reviews for this park and they are almost all very high in terms of visitor satisfaction. Many consider this to be the most scenic state park in Georgia. Keep in mind the event is over Labor Day Weekend to take advantage of an extended setup. Early reservations will ensure a spot for the GA-TAC gathering.

Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of the most scenic parks in the state, offering rugged geology and beautiful vistas. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the mountain by Sitton's Gulch Creek, and elevations differ from 800-1,980 feet.

The most spectacular view into the canyon is found near the picnic area parking lot; however, additional views can be found along the rim trail. Hardy visitors who hike to the bottom of the gorge (including a 600 step staircase) find two waterfalls cascading over layers of sandstone and shale into pools below.

There are 72 campsites on 3,485 acres. Day hiking is a favorite activity on the 4.8 mile West Rim Loop, the 2-mile Waterfalls Trail, the 2-mile Backcountry Loop, the 6.5-mile Sutton Gulch Trail and the 5.6 mile Long Branch Trail.

RV sites typically include only water and electricity. A dump station is available in the park.
