Part IIIa: Interlude

Hello Folks,
Obviously I haven't posted for awhile now so I thought I should post an interlude in the meanwhile.
I've been working on the main desk, both in construction and my current work load. we've been migrating our hosting system to virtual servers. Mostly it's been going smooth but I've been terribly busy and up until the wee hours of the morning, which ends up having me sleep during daylight hours mostly.
In short, I haven't had much time to be making much progress on the main work desk as i have been using it. I built it pretty much like a standard computer desk (sliding keyboard shelf, though twice as wide, drawers, a cabinet for a desktop tower system with ventilation and a clear plexiglass panel with fans to display lights and provide more ventilation and a hutch.)
Everything is complete except the hutch. I have two 22" monitors side-by-side that I use for graphic design, etc. that fit into the center space. There are two shelf units to either side of that space and a small overhead flourescent light in the middle space to provide light for the keyboard and desktop. I've got the hutch built but need to order three tambour door kits. One for each shelf space and one for the monitor/desk space in the middle. The hutch is designed much like an old rolltop desk.
My idea is to be able to have an expansive workspace that I can simply close the tambour doors for traveling and take off without having to put thinngs away. The tambour doors are more or less cosmetic as I have already driven with things as they are in place with no mishaps. I'll post pics as soon as the project is completed.
I also removed the old television that was built into the dash up in the cab and replaced it with a built it cabinet compartment with a shelf. I just have to build a door for it now.
I've also finished removing all the unsightly and old, caulking on the exterior of the MH and will begin wet sanding in preperation for the new paint job. I was hoping to finish all of that this month but with a few minor glitches in the migration project I won't finish untill next month.
I just need to wet sand the entire exterior then mask and tape off everything I don't want to paint and then fire of the compressor and color my world.
I'm only bummed because I wanted to catch Burning Man again this year but I'll have to wait until next year. We still have more to do on the migration project and I just couldn't be that far away. So for any of you who will be there, I'm totally with you in Spirit.
Until then,
Happy trails and sweet dreams.
