121219 - Santa Cruz

For our last trip of year, we returned to beautiful New Brighton State Beach campground.

It was week before Christmas and had the park virtually to ourselves. We rode the bikes around the campground and enjoyed beautiful walks on the beach taking-in great California golden sunsets.

At night, the nearby city of Capitola was lit-up with holiday lights. We strolled the gift shops and stopped for wine tasting at It's Wine Time.

120609_New Brighton Beach

We returned to the beautiful area around Santa Cruz, California. Staying at New Brighton State Beach. The site came with power and water. Views of the Pacific here are breathtaking and we enjoyed greats walks on the beach.

On the drive-up, we stopped for picnic lunch at the Soledad Mission. We visited near-by Santa Cruz mission during our stay. Soledad turned out to be a great stop, but the only thing original about the Santa Cruz mission was its surrounding park.

081228e - Capitola

Charming town, very close our New Brighton SB campsite. Parked in town. We strolled the boardwalk in the morning, coffee from Cafe Misk in hand. Warm sun, festive feeling with the New Year celebration approaching. Fitting new discovery to conclude our 3rd year with the Airstream.

081228d - New Brighton State Beach

New Brighton State Beach near Santa Cruz was our second campground on this end of year adventure. Near perfect campground with spectacular ocean view and access. To get here from Saulsalito, we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge...yep, Airstream in tow, very cool. South on I280 to CA85 and then west on CA17 back onto CA1 in Santa Cruz.

At sunset, we enjoyed a walk along the beach, modest walk-down access from campsite. Breathtaking, all of it. Then, for dinner, picked-up some take-out...
