We went to Napa by way of Santa Rosa and the Charles M. Schultz Museum. This is a really interesting museum that is not to be missed. It includes many of the original strips from "Sparky" and even has his studio upstairs. There are some older strips and exhibits with commentary about the cold war. Be sure to go to the Outside Garden and explore the exhibits out there for a surprise. We did purchase a Snoopy stuffed animal for the daughter.
Next we ventured to Napa and explored the Oxbow Public Market. This is a collection of unique shops and restaurants under one roof in downtown Napa. There are many different types of food to try. We sampled delicious chocolates at Anette's Chocolates. We hit during the noon lunch crowd and ended up eating at Gott's next door.
We visited Andretti Winery. We did a wine tasting and liked most of the wines although we only really like Zin as a red wine. The winery is gorgeous but we thought the wines were a little pricey. Wine on, Mario!
We also visited the Mondavi Winery. We tried a glass of their chardonnay that is only distributed at the winery and it was excellent.
We stopped at Beringer winery but the tours were already finished for the day and the tasting room was staffed minimally so we took pictures and moved on.
Right next to the Beringer Winery is the Culinary Institute of America. This is where the upcoming chefs train for their careers. There are restaurants there and the dining is fabulous we heard. It must have been as reservations were a week out, so if going near make the reservations early.
Back to the campground for the day.
