Where do I start to wire my 1963 flying cloud?
Posted 11-16-2008 at 09:16 PM by Sellars
I'm in the process of restoring a 1963 flying cloud 22 foot. I have gutted it and pulled up the floor. I have replaced the tanks and POR 15 the frame. I am now stuck on where to begin with the wireing. I need to know where to begin. What kind of harness? Inverter? basically where do I start and what will I need. Any help on this issue will be most helpfull.

Thank you

Me too....
I am starting a complete electrical system. This is what I am doing.
Start here....
The 12volt Side of Life (Part 1)
Then figure out what you want to power in your trailer.
Draw out a basic -plan using 12volt and the 115volt appliances.
Look at the converters available .....I used Best converter.com. BestConverter - Converters, Inverters, Electrical Supplies, Electronics
I used the WFCO on my Caravel and plan on the the Xantrex converter/control panel this project. I am space limited and the combined unit looks good. The WFCO combined looks good too, and its less expensive.
I plan for external electrical outlets only on the curb side (its a 20 footer) those with longer trailers say to plan a road side outlet too. I am planning a 12 volt access outside too.
Use a good battery (I use Lifeline) and put it in a vented compartment.
Use LED's if so inclined.
Run wire for any possible future uses.....microwaves, computers,a/c, etc.
I used 12 guage wire on 12volt and 12/2 romex for the 115v.Posted 11-17-2008 at 08:46 AM by Melody Ranch
