1965 Safari

Alright, so now we've had this for 1 week and 1 day! We have removed the gaucho frames, the couch frame, the original tile floor and cleaned up after that. It still smells! I guess 30 years of storage will not remove itself over night!
Saturday, we started to install the laminate wood floor and we are waiting for a small piece of vinyl/laminate to apparently fall from the sky... We missed the WBCCI Open House because we worked right through it. But we did take a break to take the kids to see the fireworks! We bought miscellaneous hardware for plumbing issues. We have started to remove caulk from one window because it was leaking down the side onto the floor. We will do all of the windows in time.
Still stuck on what to do for cushions. We took the foam out of the 2 gauchos and I took the covers to the laundromat and they are still not good. I hate to toss them and don't want to spend the money to replace them, but we can't sleep on these! I need to check the chamber of commerce to find an upholsterer...
Any ideas would be welcome!

Floor looks GREAT...as for upholstery, we are having someone in my hometown of Bloomington, WI redo the cushions in our 71, then the 67 safari this coming spring...Her prices are VERY reasonable and does excellent work! Lots of fabrics to choose from, or you can supply your own.. www.lonasupholstery.com Tell her that I referred you. :-)Posted 07-13-2009 at 10:11 PM by aircooled4
