1965 Safari

Last week, we were offered Grandpa's Airstream. It had been stored in a barn since 1977. My husband has been wanting to travel Route 66 in his '62 Chrysler 300, so we thought, sure!! Let's give it a look. I had never been in an Airstream and had not really seen one up close.
We travelled to the farm and pulled it out of the barn and I thought it was pretty nice, considering the 30 years of mouse nest and ??? The shell had clearcoat in good shape, no dings or dents, lots of original equipment. We jotted the serial number and were seriously considering it when we left.
On the way back home, we stopped at the WBCCI Int'l Rally in Madison and were told to drive around back to the Vintage Area. So, we did. We found the nicest lady and spoke with her for over an hour (apologies for the rowdy kids!) about her AS. Unfortunately I don't remember what is was exactly, but I think it was a 64 Safari from Kentucky. We didn't know anything about the brands and lengths at the time, but we did some research later!
That was Saturday and my husband went up Sunday and brought it home. Immediately, we started unloading, vaccuuming, etc. We worked until almost 11 pm and started back in Monday morning.
I returned to the rally on Tuesday and was advised to go see Herb. Great guy, helped me with websites and info which I tried to write down as much as possible.
Found some cleaning tips on this forum and went back to work cleaning yesterday. Windex w/ vinegar, plain vinegar, and those Magic Erasers! I need more Magic Erasers! They are the best thing ever!! Unfortunately, with the vinyl texture, they do not last too long, but they get the sticky gone!
