Wed. 11/19 we hitched up and pulled out onto Hatteras Island again...
turned South thru Cape Hatteras and on to Ocracoke Island...

(45 miles W. of Nags Head... the Outer Banks).

Arrived in the dark, after long day driving across NC
(the WIDEST state East of the Mississippi).
Finally found the state park in the dark,
pulled into a tight space... pitch black.
Surrounded by swamp...
on the edge of the East Dismal Swamp.
Bunny was a bit scared.
No hook-ups. cold....

I bought this lovely fixer upper on craigslist, it is a 1963 Globe Trotter as far as I can tell from other pictures of like trailers. I would love words of wisdom from others that have started and or completed full interior restorations. The floor is rotted the shower is sinking and whoever had it last smoked. Any ideas on how to clean without damaging the original interior paint? Is there a way not to take the body apart and replace the floor? Thanks for any help.... and to people living close...

I am interested in replacing my 1974 Sovereign interior lights on the ceiling as well as the kitchen and bathroom lights with LED's...Has anyone else done this, and if so, please send me step by step photos with instructions.

Hey, I have a 1974 Sovereign that has an old antennae. Problem is, I have a leak from the 'crank' on the interior, and since the antennae is somewhat 'outdated' due to the high definition crap, I would like to remove it. Has anyone else done this, and if so, could you please tell me step by step how to remove it and to patch the area of the 'crank'. I have Vulkem and an aluminum patch as well as a rivet gun, however I have not used it ! Please help!!!

The further along we get with the remodel the more ideas we have. One that emerged recently was Paint. The walls were so dirty and dingy, sticky and yucky, drab and bland we wanted to spice her up a bit.

First I went to Lowe's and Home Depot to look for the perfect product to paint the vinyl clad walls and quickly found I was not at all comfortable with the answers I received...

We have started our restoration (we are doing our best).So far we have removed the bathroom floor. The back 2 ft section. We removed the household toilet that the PO installed. We removed the tub and sink (to make repairs and paint). Getting the univolt out was a very tricky job as was removing the water heater. I think we will update both. We also need to get a battery, there was none in it.

We said goodbye to Doug and headed South to the Smokies. Pulled another 330 miles or so... took about 7 hours after a couple unfortunate wrong turns. Made me wish we had a GPS unit.
Took a wrong exit in Knoxville and ended up having to drive straight through downtown! That added 45 mins or so to the days drive. Then, I meant to take the short Gatlinburg bypass (to avoid the town craziness), but instead went west to Wear Valley then south on a small road into the park. I had been there before......

Well I see I am getting a new shell on my floor. And I have vynal insted of the right, vinyl. OPPS
To night I finished anchoring the floor in the bath area down. and took some more pics of the progress. And the frame fish plating I have done to the broken frame.(both sides)
