Friday, 11/28 we pulled down to Savannah, GA.
Another short run of about 140 miles.
Got in early, set up camp and drove out to Tybee Island.
It began to rain and got dreary.
No chance to walk on the beach.
Stopped at the 'Crab House' on the way back,
hidden back in the boonies, at the end of the causeway onto the island.
What a neat local joint!. Alligator pond.
Mounds of seafood platters...
Crabs, oysters, fish, lobster, etc.
Meant to go back back when we were in a hungry mood,
but never got the chance... it rained all weekend.
Saturday, 11/29
Visited some of Donna's relatives,
then drove into town and all around the historic neighborhoods...
houses, parks, statues, etc.
Went down the the riverfront... Bay street and River Street.
It was mobbed with people.... tons of restaurants and bars, etc.
Couldn't even find a parking place!
Had enough and drove back to camp.
Sunday, 11/30
It rained solid all day.
Spent a day in camp reading.
I felt pukey... saw a lot of the bathroom.
Left on Monday, 12/1
for the heart of the Okefenokee Swamp!

Hi Kathy....
We found Skidaway to be very nice.... clean, good showers.
It is quite large, but lots of room if you have a big rig. We are small and like cozy little private sites. This park is quite large, with playgrounds, trails, etc. not so very private but it was still nice. Didn't have time to hike the trails as I'd wanted. It was convenient to downtown and Tybee, etc.

Hi guys,
We are thinking of stopping at Skidaway after travelling from Lake Martin Alabama. I am getting tired of driving the 300 + miles in a day. however, I really wanted to see Tybee Island and Savahnah. What do you think of these places and could you reccommend a place to stop in between? Thanks for your help.
