We pulled back down to Panama City, about 50 miles... finding St. Andrews State Park on the South side of town, on a peninsula... looking across the St. Andrews Bay at condos. The campground was long and big... spread out along the bay... lots of big rigs, not much privacy. We are always among the smallest. We hiked a couple trails around lakes and marshes. Herons and Egrets going into breading plumage this time of year. The beach was beautiful on the gulf. Water here more turquoise than at St. Joseph. The sand was still the finest, whitest, squeak-under-your-feet variety. Amazing. There were surf-sailors... which looks like a lot of fun... if I were younger. We saw some neat birds.... the shy Pied-billed Grebe, making amazing croaking calls in a marsh. Got so-close-I-coulda-touched-em to a Great Blue Heron and a Great Egret... so very calm and used to people here. Also saw several deer, a Marsh Rabbit and a dog with shoes on.
The campground was so close into town, it made it easy to take some time to do laundry, shop and wash the truck. Weather was improving, we were warm and comfortable... did some reading... relaxed. As my buddy Doug says: "Start off slow, then taper off."

I've been following you around Florida on this trip, and have stayed in a lot of the places you have been. Have lived in Florida for 52 years, and owned a 34' AS for about 13 of those ---- that's how we saw a lot of your 'stops' ---- was fun, and I still dream of doing it, but guess following you is the way my dream will occur. Thanks for the MEMORIES. You've got some fantastic pictures that will be your MEMORIES of this winter tour.
