Drove 97 miles south on FL19, 33, 570, 540 etc. to Winter Haven. Parked the trailer in Donna's niece's backyard (many thanks to Karla and Art) and spent the holidays with her sister Sandy and brother-in-law Benny. Helped Benny with a couple home-improvement projects around the mobile home park village. Mostly just hung out and ate a lot of good food, pretty much continuously. Holidaze. Had fun seeing Donna's extended family again... sister's kids and their kids. Even the grand kids are older teens and young adults now! Where does the time go? Did a couple day hikes in the Tiger River and Crooked Lake areas. Then we discovered the Circle Bar B Reserve, a Polk county park virtually around the corner from their place. It was chock full of birds, gators, Armadillos, feral hogs, raccoons and lots of trail loops along lake shore, marshes, canals and pine uplands. Saw many birds for the first time... 'lifers'. American Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Limpkin, Black-bellied Whistling Duck, Mottled Duck, Savannah Sparrow, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher... tons of White Pelicans and Black Vultures. Amazing place. Highly recommended. Went over to Bradenton one day to visit family. Did a little kayaking at the Robinson Reserve, on the Manatee River by Tampa Bay. Saw some more birds for first time. Reddish Egret. Had fun. New Years came and went. More eating. Departed Monday, January 3rd after major shopping and re-stock.

We love your blog and pictures. You are going to all the places that we want to explore when we retire and sell the house. Hopefully we will be on the road in May taking our first trip as fully retired to British Columbia for about 6 weeks. Keep it up, we enjoy the places you are going to.
