Day 21, Camp 8 (4 nights @ $22.30 per night)

Drove across I-12 and I-10... through MS and AL, then south on AL59 to the Gulf Shores... then east along FL292 to Big Lagoon State Park... total of 197 miles. Finally made it to FL after 3 weeks! Nice leisurely trip down. Still passed by so many places and things to do! I always feel like I'm missing a lot. Got set up in a nice little cozy site, less than 10 sites taken in the whole park. Woke Monday am to 34 degrees... bbbrrrr... but sunny
Hiked around a bit... saw Bald Eagle, Osprey, Anhinga, Grebes, Mockingbird, Pine Warbler and others, unidentified. Disconnected water for the night... low of 27º. Tuesday, got gas, mailed bills, re-stocked Mr. Jim Beam... $10 cheaper than in MI! Drove around the camp peninsula... saw prescribed burn in the pines and brush along the lagoon. Cold and overcast all day Wednesday. Read a lot of Stieg Larsson. Stepped out to photograph some leaves and vines that caught my eye... mostly vegged. Had to disconnect the water every night here! 
Thursday dawns clear again... 29º. Time to head southerly. Always seems to be our luck, that where-ever we go, they're having a 'cold spell'... unusual weather... unlike they've seen in years, etc., etc., blah, blah 
Oh well... not as cold as Michigan!
