Argosy Adventures in (in)Sanity

I have wanted a camper for hunting, bugging (lobster), and yes, camping too. We are two very busy people with adult kids and grandchildren and teenage kids and very demanding jobs. I had a motorcycle that wasn't being used so I sold it to pay for this, a 1975 Airstream Argosy. I too fell in love with the steel end caps that provided such pretty windows. I also liked the idea of paint schemes though I would love a shiny one one day that will reflect the beauty of our surroundings. I always think those photographs epitomize the point of an airstream, to mirror nature and blend rather than stick out. I digress....
It's already stripped inside but the guy who found it in a building he purchased threw everything back in it. He threw away the AC which I've decided is a blessing.
I am very busy being a mom but the twins are actually excited though hesitant when I took them to see it. It's hopefully being moved (via trailer) over the next few days to a storage lot for now and then to a warehouse where I will be able to do the exterior stuff and keep it dry (Florida has four rainstorms a day in the summer).
I am very concerned that because the belly pan has been torn away, and the c channels have been compromised if not removed in several places, the shell might not be very attached to the frame. This could be a disaster waiting to happen without SEVERAL straps over the top to hold it down and begging my buddy who's hauling it on his goose neck to not go too fast. Renovating it is going to be difficult if I at first have to find the parts scattered for a 10 mile stretch of country roads where stealing for recycling is a lifestyle, not a hobby.
I will keep y'all posted.
