Reserved a Rally Campsite
Woo-hoo! We are brave and/or crazy. We don't even know if our sweet baby will roll or not. May pull the tongue right off the front or jerk it out with half the front frame dangling 5 miles from the dealership. The wheels may fall off - or flatten. I picture that ole lady dragging a car all to pieces on the Clint Eastwood movie, "Every Which Way But Loose". We know anything could happen and still...
We've "done gone" and reserved (and -YIKES- paid for!!!) four nights at Topsail Hill Reserve State Park in Florida. That's familiar territory to us, and heck, it's downhill from Arkansas, so we oughta' be able to make it.
We've got almost three months to get her road worthy. Not worrying about perfect, not even worrying if the floor is bad, etc., if she can roll 500 miles behind the truck, we're going. If the electric doesn't work and the water won't run - or does run - all over the place, well, we've camped in worse. A tent, for one, a tent with a rotten floor for another, and a car!
I can't imagine anything other than the inability to roll straight and true behind Big Red keeping us from our first Rally.
Well, actually....there's a rally over in Oklahoma right now. Hmmmm, may have to sneak over there in "Red" and be "lookie-lou's" and check it out. That would be, of course, if we could leave Sweet Excella alone after just getting her - and that's kind of doubtful.
Waiting to go get her is like waiting for Christmas when I was 12. I can't sleep. Even had trouble keeping my mind off her during church today. Sin, thy name is Excella.
I'll probably bite all my fingernails off on the way home watching and worrying. Oh, wait, I don't have fingernails...they're worn down to raggedy stubs from polishing Red's wheels. So, I'm ready! I'm so "mental" a little more stress won't make much difference anyway.
I am up too late again. I have to rest. Baby's coming home day after tomorrow if the sun comes up and the crick don't rise. I've got my cleaning arsenal ready.
I've read this forum until I'm seeing double. By golly, I know what a banana wrap is. Finally figured it out just tonight. And found a place to get the claspy thingies I need for that little door, and the name for them, too, but forgot already.
Only about 30 hours until we go get her. They are supposed to have everything working for us to inspect, but I doubt they're ready for us to yank up the floor. I will, though, lay down and at least determine that she has a belly pan, rusted and hole-y as it may be. At least. Ya'll have already taught me more than most salesmen would prefer. I called asking questions, and he said, "you've been busy studying, eh?"
Darn tootin!
