I cannot get the tongue jack to work

I have a 2 year old 25' classic. Never had any problem till now, the tongue went up, after hitching to silverado, then I could not get the tongue to go down to unhitch. (it goes up, but not down). Power is still available, because it goes up, but I get no response when I pull switch forward. I'm going away for the week, trailer is on jack stands, but not to the level I need. Plus I know if I tried to back the truck up (if trailer at right level, I'm afraid the jach stands will be puched over.) Is there a way manually bring the tongue down, not relying on electric 12 volt switch?

Please provide more information on the brand and model of jack that you have. Most brands have a manual crank that you use in cases like this, but the location varies by model. Also, you may need to purchase a crank handle, if your jack did not come with one (sometimes it's an option).
If your batteries are low, you may be able to get a little more voltage/current by connecting to shore power.Posted 06-24-2009 at 09:24 PM by Phoenix

It is a super jack.
It is on my 2007 25' classic.
I just went out to check, where I could possibly put a 'crank',
and the top of the super jack seems to be welded into the top of the column. there is a side part of the column top, all one piece, ther does not seem to have an open spot to put a crank. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spot.

If your jack is an HH you have to remove the top of the gray box on top of the jack. Do that by removing the screws at the bottom of each corner. Slide the top to the side and you can access the slotted end of the jack shaft. You will need to buy a crank with a slot if one didn't come with the trailer.
There are instructions printed on the front of the box telling how to resync the motor when you get power working again.Posted 06-27-2009 at 08:31 AM by Paul&Dee
