Head for the Hills 2012 day 3

Liberal KS to Fort Morgan CO. 2 years back we drove all the way across Kansas, east to west, on 2 lane roads and enjoyed every mile. Today we drove south to north on 2 lane roads. We saw where America's food comes from. Wheat fields that go as far as you can see, which here is a looooong way! Corn, beef...and all of it was on smooth straight roads with no traffic. Perfect to unwind and see the side of the USA that is not possible from the interstate system. We stopped at small town parks and watched horse barrel racing, crossed numerous 'rivers' with not a sign of water. 13 MPG today once we got away from stop and go traffic...

The only 'down side'? 109 degree road temps in Kansas. 106 here tomorrow, we must get some Altitude and cool off! Note to self...buy a fly swatter!
