Getting Started

Posted 12-27-2009 at 07:07 PM by buffaloman

I am just starting to fix up the Argosy I bought in CA. While it was supposed to be functional, I discovered it needed a new toilet, shower faucet and a few other things. I towed her home from the RV storage yard and rewired the GFI outlet to get shore power to her. While it was sunny today, it was pretty cold. This morning it was well below freezing. I think it got to about 34 at the highest .

I am looking forward to cleaning her up , fixing the broken stuff and getting her rolling.

Sounds like a fun project! We'd love to see pictures when you have the chance. Yours is a couple of years newer than ours - it's neat to see the differences in design. Good luck!

Been a long time since I posted but I've had numerous expereinces. I pulled the toilet and bought a Bravada becuase evryone said it would fit. Not! Still looking for a toilet that will fit the original space. Anyone know what to do? I don't want to cut the molding.

I replaced the refrigerator with a new one but Camping World didn't order the correct sized cover so its now silver foil LOL. I need to replace the AC unit but saving my pennied for that. I also want to install an awning but a new system will be over $1200 plus I don't trust Camping World to install it correctly. ( Sorry about sounding negative). I replaced the hot water heater , it works correctly.

I have upgraded my tow vehicle to a 99 Dodge 2500 Cummings diesel and improved the towing capacity so trips are now comfortable.

The trailer still needs a paint job but that will have to wait. I wonder if I can just strip her and polish? then paint the end caps silver? Anyone tried this? What is your opinion.
