Drove across US 98 through Apalachicola, Carravelle and up FL 319 to the park. Total of 71 miles. Got set up in a decent site, though not one of our favorites (this is our 4th time here). Chilly and damp. Went out to dinner, down 319 to 98 on the coast, found a place called the 'Seineyard'. Seafood place, not bad… very busy with Christmas parties. Morning dawned still gray and cold, 48º. We're back in the Eastern
Time Zone, dawn comes an hour later. Did a day trip to Wakulla Springs and took the boat tour again. It's worth the $8. Got my zoom telephoto lenses out for the first time and they both fogged up internally in the warm sun. They felt like about 40º when I took then out of the pack, they'd been in the trailer the whole trip. The first time I'd ever seen this happen. Lost a lot of potential pics of Manatees to the internal fog. Luckily, they both 'cleared' after about 30 minutes. May still need to be sent in for cleaning. Doesn't seem like they should do this. Drove down into St. Marks Wildlife Refuge and saw lots and lots of ducks. Saw a Sora for the first time and got a marginal pic. Ate at the Backwoods Bistro, our favorite pizza place in Sopchoppy. Good as usual Showers good, TV, internet and phone signals marginal.
