Drove east on US 190 from the park, onto I-12, turns into I-10… east to Mobile, AL. Just past the bay, south then east on US 98 and into FL, south on Bauer Rd. to the park. Total of 185 miles. Got set up and listened to all the jets fly over on a Sunday afternoon and evening. Must be extra weekend training from Pensacola. They quit at dark. Forgot about them We like the lagoon here, some nice trails, easy to drive out onto the Gulf Shore Islands National Seashore, Neat area. During the night I kept hearing a soft 'whooshing' sound. Thought maybe it was wind in the trees and bushes. Next morning I realized it was the ocean! Yeaa! This year it took us 26 days to get to Florida! Starting to live up to my mantra… 'Start slow, then taper off.' Had a little rain on Monday, not too hard, possible Tornadoes to the west but the worst weather missed us. Warm and humid, 75º. Took a hike around the lagoon, 2 miles or so… got drizzled on. Showers here were excellent! Real faucet, no push-buttons! Very hot! Excellent TV, phone and internet signals.
