STILL lost in space

Posted 05-01-2011 at 07:23 PM by Claudia Nutt

OK, now that we have finally had some dry weather to work on the "can of worms", we have discovered LOTS of problems and my husband is NOT a handy man. I can look at a diagram and figure out most things. Can design and rebuild but have been boggled by the term BELLY PAN? What is it? From my guess, it's the underside holding tanks? We have what looks like a poor patch in the aluminium and when we try to hook up city water it just pours from this "belly pan"? My husband is ready to scrap my dream vessel...Any feedback appreciated...Claudia

The belly pan refers to the skin on the underside of an Airstream trailer. It wraps from the sides down under to the center of the trailer. It is riveted to the out riggers, frame and cross members. If you look at the pictures on my thread you'll see what I'm talking about. Good luck.
