Hi Airstream Owners,
I'm new to this so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I bought a new Airstream 2008 DWR in Nov. of last year. I also purchased an option called Perma Plate which is supposed to protect your trailer from corrosion damage. Five months ago I notice extensive corrosion around the rivets all over the trailer. I've been given the run around for the past 5 months, first by the dealer CA RV who is no in bankruptcy and then by Perma Plate and finally by Airstream. I bought Airstream because of their reputation for QUALITY but now I've been told that Airstream does not warrant their trailers against corrosion. I wonder why they build a trailer out of aluminum if not because of it's resistance to the elements ? Has anyone else had this problem and what have you done about it. Please let me know at settani@gmail.com. Thank You

Sorry to say $1500.00 The company now claims it does not protect against corrosion, especially on aluminum. It's intended for protection of paint. Only found this out after the fact.Posted 12-21-2008 at 06:17 PM by CA DWR OWNER

Hello Again,
Just an update on my problem. I wrote to Airstream at least 3 times and finally received a reply. They simply stated again that they don't warrant their trailers against corrosion. I am looking into hiring an attorney to pursue this. I can't believe that was all they would say. Crazy thing is that after buying the DWR in Nov. of 2007 I bought a new 2006 Airstream A39 Motor Home in April of 2008. I didn't get it out of the dealership until Oct. because of mechanical problems. I learning the hard way that Airstream products aren't quality built products at all and their warranties are worth the paper they're printing on. Anyone know a good attorney ?Posted 12-21-2008 at 06:30 PM by CA DWR OWNER
