Officially finished with the outside for now

Posted 09-23-2009 at 07:53 PM by Bowmans

We painted all of the trim and lettering on the camper, cleaned the trunk, made a new cover for the fiber-optic light thingy out of aluminum and used a wire brush on the tongue to clean up a little rusty area and re-painted that. I found out that taping of the lettering wasn't the way to go so everything that was painted was done freehand. The only things left on the outside are what we will do with the antena and polishing the gas tanks.

    First rate!!!

Now the neighbors won't care what you do on the inside - 'cause it looks so purty on the outside...

We bought 3 25' rolls and had alot extra. Not enough to make another full roll worth but close. We also put this 1/4" trimline in the AC cover. Our AC cover had the aluminum trim to mount the blue in that went around the whole circumference about mid-height. Not sure if yours is the same. If not, 2 rolls may do it. For the ~1" (wider) stuff we bought 1 roll and had 3" left over. Just enough to take to Sherman Williams to get a color swatch for the trim paint.

HAHAHA! The bin is in the mail by the way (mailed regular mail Thursday). We are planning on renting a spot on the bay as a cheap summer vacation home until we can get the money we spent on the renovation back in the bank. Then we can look at traveling in it. We will probably keep the spot at the bay and just tow it from there when we get to traveling.
